Thanks for the visit and comment about the starling with leucism.
No, this was a mature bird and was in a flock of starlings in the winter. She was here when it was snowing and all. I have a lot of photos of her and sent one to Cornell and they told me the bird has the leucism problem.
Leif; you're right it's planned to put up some housing, a college and, of course, a supermarket (where would be without them?). The site was an old derelict chemical plant so no-one is missing it. The recession has however delayed the start of building.
It looks like it could be a photo from after WWII - some construction I guess.
