Actually these lights are being thrown out as part of the grand makeover. There was a small heap of them outside BHS. I hope they're going to be sold on and recycled somewhere. Here's one in better times.
If only these old lamp styles could be given some renewed dignity...Maybe outside the entrance of a museum or art gallery...It seems such a terrible waste to cast them aside...The second photo particularly, suggests neglect and indifference...
Hmm, you'd imagine that might come in handy for an artist.
