Smoke ring

Nelson Street, Hull

The laws against smoking mean that poor nicotine dependent souls have taken to congregating in little huddles on the streets to share their 'vice'.

  1. I was a smoker once, but I'm glad I gave it up many years ago.

  2. I'm a lifelong non-smoker, but I find the anti-smoking laws actively nasty and a sad reflection on the judgmental times we live in. If smoking is that bad, ban it. And give up on all that lovely tax revenue. Otherwise, stop persecuting people who are pursuing a legal addiction.

  3. I have to agree with Morag. I'm not a smoker, but the persecution of smokers here really gets over the top at times.

  4. I used to smoke and I'm glad I quit. But I sympathize with these guys. It's an addiction and it's a tough one.

As for the persecution, I don't see that here. I want to avoid second-hand smoke, and most of the smokers around here are considerate of that as far as I can tell.
