Wake up and smell the ....

Newland Avenue, Hull
Readers of this blog will know that I am a tea man myself. It was not always so. I used to drink loads of coffee, just like the old proverb: black as hell, strong as death, sweet as love. But then about three years ago after a nasty encounter with the Norwalk virus (I've never heard of any pleasant encounters with this little life changer) I just couldn't face the stuff again. Now I can't even stand the smell.

So tea, anyone? Shall I be mother?

The weekend in black and white is brewing up over here.

  1. I saw a similar sign which said that Life begins after coffee.

  2. I love that phrase, "Shall I be mother?"

  3. I can't stand coffee, never could. I got into drinking tea when I had a particularly bad cold. I prefer Earl Grey or English Breakfast with an obscene amount of sugar.

  4. A wonderful b&w composition!
    My b&w post at:

  5. I used to drink a LOT of tea, but I suddenly went off it. Now it's coffee - but I'm not happy about that any more either :( I like your photo very much, and the message.

  6. Amen to that.

Visiting from BLACK AND WHITE WEEKEND.

  7. Interesting sign.
I'm a tea drinker too. I take green tea every afternoon.

  8. Fantastic sign. Excellent picture. They only times in my life I haven't had the stomach for coffee is when I was expecting my three children.
