That was the Winter that wasn't

So a season with no snow, no frosts to speak of, a bit of rain and mild ...meh! I don't call that Winter. Still I'll have saved on the old gas bills and so forth. So from 16.57 GMT it's officially Spring (I had to look that up) and it'll probably snow, did last year.

  1. I call such winters "green winters". We have had many of them over the years. According to the BBC in London this has been a really bad winter because of the rainfall but here in Yorkshire we have had little cause for complaint. As a gardener I would have liked a day or two of harsh frost to kill off some of the nasties in the soil.

  2. Winter came back to Haninge a few days ago. With a lot of snow and cold weather.

  3. Many people in the south of England have suffered severely from floods and storm damage this winter (and probably still are suffering the after-effects, but it seems not to be news anymore). But for those of us who have avoided that misfortune, it really has been an 'easy' winter. Still, we've had snow in April before (I live in Hertfordshire), so there's still time...
